CIty BEER
This project contributed to my university degree show in my 3rd year. City Beer is a non profit brand aiming to create a heightened awareness about the environment and the pollution in cities. Its primary goal is to fund the cleaning up of cities around Europe. Every customer’s purchase will go towards the cleaning up of that particular city they have bought. This gives the customer the freedom of choice in its fight for a cleaner world!

What is City Beer?
This project is about colour mainly. I intended it on being a personal approach on representing different cities through my personal experiences and knowledge of these cities. The design inspiration comes from my personal experience and feel about the city. It is meant to represent it through colour and symbolism. I try and use stereotypical colours and symbolism with my own personal twist. The incentive to buy the beer is that the money from whichever beer is bought goes towards cleaning up that particular city. This way this brand is environmentally conscious and aims to heighten people’s awareness about pollution in European cities. Why buy Heineken when you can buy a City Beer and help clean a European city? It is also interactive for the consumer as they get a choice which adds an entertaining aspect to it. I believe it also is personal and people will have motivation to buy it if it is from their particular country or even city. I believe it is a fun way to help the environment.

PROCESS
MAdrid
I chose red because I believed it symbolises Spain and chose to represent it by using a flamingo dancer which is what I think of when I think of Spanish women.
I made this illustration on the computer and developed it to become a pattern.
I chose red because I believed it symbolises Spain and chose to represent it by using a flamingo dancer which is what I think of when I think of Spanish women.
This is the process I went through to find the final design. I played a lot with the illustrations and placed them in different patterns to find something I thought worked in the end.
BRussels
This idea came from the traditional dish in Brussels 'Moules Frites'. I drew some mussels on illustrator and played with the shape and pattern.
Development process, playing around with illustration to find something fun and unique.
Final outcomes playing with different colours.
oslo
I decided to represent Oslo with a viking symbol. The illustration is inspired by the photo at the Viking museum in Oslo.
I chose to use red, blue and white inspired by the Norwegian flag. Playing with the geometric shape of the boat was a lot of fun.
FINAL
I repeated this process for every city and created a unique design in which I illustrated myself and created a label to put on a can.
FINal
outcomes
This was the picture taken at my graduation degree show and shows the layout of this City Beer project.
These are the mockups I made of each individual final outcome for each city.
LOGO
DESIGN
Original concept designs. Using the ideas from the mind map.
Developing the logo onto a simple can. I wanted the logo to be bold, simple and variable.
FINAL LOGO, very simple design which can be layered with many colours.
Adverts
&
Marketing
Below, are the final outcomes I created for the brand's adverts. These are posters that can be put on billboards, internet ads, and used as brand promotion. There are many different outcomes using the images from the photoshoot I held.
Mockups of the advertisements in real life context.
WEBSITE
&
SOCIAL MEDIA
Below is the design of the website. This is how the website would look like to the potential clients buying a City Beer.
Here is the mockup of City Beer's Instagram page. It is full of vibrant colours.
These are some aesthetic pictures I took and was inspired by magazines like I-D. I think the clothing matching the can gives a fun youthful effect. They tell a story.
